Just a minute by Chey.. This last weekend I was invited to speak at a teens retreat....it was AMAZING and eternity was changed for lots of those young girls! I spoke about that void we have without Christ. And then this morning i got a text from a friend that had no idea what I spoke on, or even knew about the retreat and she said...I feel like Im being hunted by the devil, and he wants to steal, kill, and destroy me. And bring me down to his level....so I pasted below my response to her. For those of you that heard me talk, sorry...here it is agin.... But I can see that this is a REAL issue, and it never hurts to rehearse the truth Over and over again...here is what I told her this morning.......of course the devil is fighting for you! But heres my question to you.....what are you doing about it? Im NOT trying to be hard on you....just need you to understand that if you are not ACTIVELY reading the Word of God, then your spirit gets weaker by the day. The Word of God is food for your spirit. You wouldnt go without eating real food and let your physical body die...but not feeding your spirit is killing it as well...then when you are your weakest the devil has a hay day with you with discouragement, fear, depression etc....BUT!!! The hope is this...you can COMPLETELY change this in your life IF you read and pray and listen for Jesuss voice in your life. You become stronger in your spirit where the devil cant fight you as easily! He still fights us...even me....but I have the secret weapon to defeat him the moment he rears his ugly head!! SCRIPTURE! Thats the ONLY thing he is afraid of! Say them out loud and he leaves immediately!Memorize some so you can say them in the car or whenever you feel like he is fighting you! MEMORIZE SCRIPTURES and this will cure that feeling! The world offers many, MANY things to fill the empty, void feeling in our soul.....but ONLY one things can fill it....JESUS! Not money, not a mans love, not things...ONLY Jesus! Its too hard to fight the world and the devil if you are weak. But building yourself up daily with scripture is the absolute answer to the question. I love you! Im proud of you for trying!! For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
