Just a note to all of our atheist friends... I love you, but I must inform you that you are making a serious error in your choice of using John Lennon or his song Imagine as the poster child or icon in your fight against everything associated with God or religion. Johns lyrics, so controversial and pointed, were never meant to imply what you think they imply. Lennon was simply promoting the notion that human kind should not be divisive across the planet. Never was it Lennons intention to cease a belief or eradicate the notion that there is a God. If that is what you get from his song, then you are simply but perfectly wrong. Sorry to burst your bubble with this shocking news... Lennon was a believer in God. He professed the belief that God, or the Divine, dwells in all things. And that is his vision that is promoted in his song... The words are metaphorical. He wasnt wishing there was no religion, no heaven and no hell...he was painting an image of a world in which those things did not get between mankinds love for himself. These are the facts. Look it up. Read for yourself of the many times Lennon professed his faith. And while you are checking up on Mr. Lennon, chew on the fact that he was a born again Christian. Maybe you need to find a different poster baby for your anti-God activities. Lennon doesnt fit the profile of an atheist... I could say that I am sorry for having to let you know about these things.. But then I would be lying.
