Just a quick Happy New Year to all my past - TopicsExpress

Just a quick Happy New Year to all my past attendees/sponsors/contestants/volunteers/staff here on the group. While things remain on hold until if/when we acquire the proper major backing to do the event the way it deserves to be done, were continuing our anti-piracy work to support all our past sponsors and keep the Wal-Mart savings at any cost mentality from ruining the rubber scene with cheap crap that both looks bad and prevents new and current designers from being viable in the marketplace. I was so thrilled at what we were able to do with the event. In 7 years we gave out well over $80,000 in prizes and were built a platform for rubber designers to showcase their work IN NEW YORK. I think we showed that you can do a pageant that has a practical mission relevant to women of all ages in the 21st Century and a format that is exciting without being cheesy or preachy. My unofficial slogan for MRW was Miss Rubber World is what Miss America wants to be when she grows up - and discovers rubber. The simple answer as to what happened after 2013 was that after being denied a new contract from the Affinia Manhattans parent company, Denihan Properties, I had to gamble on a pricier location that ripped me off on about 2 grand in bar sales by giving away that much in free drinks on a date just a week after Fetish Evolution, and lost a little over 6 grand since we were 100 people shy of breaking even. My health was also a mess. Between a 2nd colon resection to treat my Diverticulosis and an open heart surgery to close a 1 inch hole in my heart (an ASD-Secundum), I could barely walk at the 2013 Ball from all the pain and loss of muscle mass. All the bills got paid, but with no seed money to cover promotion and location deposits there was nothing left to produce the event with. Rather than going backward trying to limp along on a subsistence type of budget, Id rather shelve the event until I can get a major corporate sponsor appropriate to our arena (i.e. Trojan Condom, KY Jelly, Grey Goose, etc.) that can put up the kind of money to get us back into a 1st class hotel-based location with dressing space for all the contestants and models, sound/lighting/video package for a proper high-def recording for live streaming and late night cable, and allow me to do the event as a FREE party for the rubber scene with 100% dress code enforcement. To borrow from Excalibur It was a fair time...that may come again... It is a dream I have. https://youtube/watch?v=_5yRi1jgOlE Anyway, I just want to say Happy New Year and thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the event. 2014 was one of those years that just takes a giant dump on the world, so heres hoping that 2015 will be a time of cleansing and rebirth for all. -D.
