Just a quick reminder about the public hearing that will be held at 7pm Monday night at the City Council meeting. This is where Council will decide what direction to go for our garbage collection. They have asked to hear from the Residents. This will cause a change in our community so I am asking that you take a look at the options available and either send in a written comment that I can take on your behalf, or come and speak yourself. You can talk about how your children love our driver Eric from Waste Management and specifically about the service you receive. Or maybe you have had previous experience with Republic through community events or because they service half of our school district. The other option is CleanScapes who is very new in our area. I have done a lot of research in to this company and would be happy to pass on the information that I have found and the concerns that I have if they win the bid. The City Council has 3 options before them Monday night and truly need our residents to help them decide which direction to go. 1) Take the staff recommendation of CleanScapes 2) Extend our current contract with Waste Management 3) Remove CleanScapes as an option and tell staff to negotiate with Waste Management and Republic to determine which option would be best for the City.
