Just a quick reminder to all suppliers. If you dont look like or act like a genuine business you will get kicked off and banned from this group. I have just removed a Photographer who has no wedding photos to show, other than half a handful stitched together in their Facebook header picture and had cobbled a few together in a single post for an advert......other than that there were no albums or photos on the Facebook business page and there were none on their own website.....all very strange. To make it mildly worse, posted on their Facebook Business page was a single picture of the Guild Of Photographers logo, and yet when you look through the listing for photographers in the area that this photographer was from, they were missing, or so I thought. I couldnt find them because their name and business name were missing from the search listing, only their phone number was present. Then looking at the full profile there was not even a link to their own website!?!?! Which is very very odd. The public shouldnt be fooled into thinking that a photographer being a member of a society, association or guild is a guarantee that they are indeed the real deal. Nearly all of these clubs are paid membership style groups, and in paying to be a member you get to use a logo, and the thing is none of these groups will turn away anyone willing to fork out £100+ per year. Just to add and clarify, that a lot of the members of these groups are indeed the real deal, specially when it is clear to see from all their other online profiles, via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn etc etc or their own websites. In this instance it just did not add up to being a person who was really doing this as a full time wedding supplier and couldnt or wasnt showing any proof via a good online portfolio.
