Just a quick shout out to the members of the Barrie Police Auxiliary who assist with our Festive R.I.D.E program. It was a pleasure to join them and our officers last night. I was very impressed by their approach. Although results have to be released via BPS protocol, Ill suggest that we each could do our part to ensure that our friends and family members make smart choices before we go out for the evening. There are still some of us who have yet to recognize the consequences of a selfish decision to drive while impaired. (No point in being nice about it). That said, it was also good to see an increased use of DD services as well as taxis and, most importantly, it was good to see a few parents out there answering the call to pick up their children at 2am.
