Just a quick update from the land of miracles. Tracy has progressed from a wheel chair, to a walker, to a cane, and soon to solo. Her spirits are great, she wants to come home. She realizes what a special place our little community is and what special people live in a place we call home. Couple of random observations and thoughts: Do you think if I write the hospital a check for $ 864,379.78 they will validate my parking?lol I finally figured out all those errands I was sent on by my lovely bride coincided with her need to get me out of her hair for a while. There is a conspiracy among nurses and phlebotomists to stagger their services so that the patient just gets back to sleep from the 5:30 pain med call to be awoken at six for blood. lol Elevators have an uncanny ability to force almost everyone in the car to becomed lost and transfixed on thier cell phone. The difference between pedestrians in S.F and Lassen County, S.F. thier eyes are transfixed on the sidewalk, Lassen thier eyes meet yours and share a greeting. Do you ever think while in an elevator, what happens if I get stuck in this thing for a long time with this particular group of people? In the last 21 days, I have drank 315 cups of coffee, Americano with an extra shot. I didnt realize it already had four in it.Buzzzzzzeeeddd. Sampled 7 different pizza places, none of them compare to us. From the small world region: As a freshman in high school back in the early 70s I was exiled to St. Pius X high school in Galt. Now the home of the CDC Academy. Classmates included Bobbie Burton, whose real name is Levar Burton of Roots and Reading Rainbow, Derek Casari a big shot sound producer for FOX, and Guy Ussorio whose family has a pizza joint here in the City. Couldnt remember the name of the place and hadnt seen Guy in 44 years. Walked into Pasquales down the street from UCSF. Started talking to the guy making a pie behind the counter, yep. Guyatano Ussorio.! After 44 years, I happen to walk into a random pizza joint and see my old buddy. Crazy.! To qoute the Grateful Dead, what a long strange trip its been.
