If you are new to this page this is what we posted on August 1st: Our first family we are raising funds for is Technical Sergeant Michael Cleveland. TSGT Cleveland in a member of the United States Air Force and is assigned to Patrick AFB, Florida. Michael is a heavy equipment operator “Dirt Boy” and I had been working directly with me for about the last four months as he was preparing to deploy down range. Because of my current position I also have been working with his wife Sharon who is a Master Sergeant here at Patrick. I have never seen Michael without a smile on his face ever, and Sharon can make a complete stranger feel like family instantly. They are a true blessing to all. We are saddened to report that he was in a motorcycle accident on the morning of June 26th. On the morning of the accident he was enjoying one of his favorite activities riding his motorcycle. He was wearing all of his protective gear to include helmet, boots, long pants, gloves and reflective gear. While turning onto A1A from the Pineda Causeway a car pulled into his path. Unable to avoid it he hit the car broadside and sustained several injuries. Most notably his spine was broken and he is paralyzed from the chest down. With no change in feeling over the past several weeks it is suspected he will remain paralyzed. Sergeant Cleveland has been married to his wife Sharon for the past twelve years. They are the proud parents of two children: one daughter; Makayla 6, and one son; Michael Jr. 9. Being military they are away from both of their families and it has been extremely difficult and costly making several trips per day to the hospital and bringing in friends and family to help with their children and everything else. The costs associated with this type of injuries are huge; they will need to modify their home, vehicles and so much more.
