Just a reminder: Chickens/Roosters/etc are not permitted in Single Family districts in Coppell. See below for details: Sec. 12-9-0. - General purpose and description of the single-family districts. The single-family districts are the most restrictive residential districts. The principal use of land in these districts is for low density single-family dwellings and related recreational, religious and educational facilities normally required to provide the basic elements of a balanced, orderly, convenient, and attractive residential area. Low density residential areas shall be protected from higher density residential development and from the encroachment of incompatible uses. Internal stability, harmony, attractiveness, order and efficiency are encourage by providing for adequate light, air and open space for dwellings and related facilities and by consideration of the proper functional relationship and arrangement of the different uses permitted in these districts. (Ord. No. 91500) Sec. 12-9-1. - Use regulations. A building or premise shall be used only for the following purposes: 1.Single-family dwellings. 2.Farms, nurseries, greenhouses or truck gardens, limited to the propagation and cultivation of plants, provided no retail or wholesale business is conducted on the premises. 3.The keeping of dogs, cats, and other normal household pets, put limited to four animals over six months old. No more than three large animals, specifically horses, cattle and sheep, can be maintained per acre of lot area. Swine and poultry are expressly prohibited.
