He is a professor at Biola University, teaching on a philosophy of beauty, has a doctorate in philosophy, has been a judge for the 168 Film Festival for the past three years, and is the author of the book, The Purple Curtain. He also has been an exhibiting visual artist for several years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles, and runs a Wing Chun Kung Fu studio in Hollywood.
