Just a reminder that if you are lonely tonight, you don’t have - TopicsExpress

Just a reminder that if you are lonely tonight, you don’t have to be. The Lord is there with you, just like He is here with me. Amen. Here is a poem from my book “A Sunset Rising.” I hope it is a blessing to you. Lonely, But Not Alone It’s so very quite in your house tonight The laundries done and put away neat You head toward the kitchen and turn on the light Perhaps to get something to eat You’re just not too sure what you want to do It’s getting kind of late But you couldn’t sleep right now if you had to You’re far too wide awake Another cup of coffee couldn’t hurt So you reach inside the cabinet to get a cup A little sugar, a little creamer, and stir 50 seconds in the microwave should heat it up Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. A quick 50 seconds and it’s done Hot coffee, hot coffee Hot coffee to sip at 12:41 A thought comes to your mind Maybe someone else is up But you look at the time And gulp the final sup The cup is empty, your coffee’s gone You’re out of things to do You’re kind of lonely, it’s almost one And there’s no one to talk to You turn on the radio In hopes to hear a certain song You turn off the radio Because it’s not the one that’s on You find yourself back in the kitchen Standing at the icebox door Ham, steak fingers, left over chicken You’re just really not too sure You close the door and give a sigh And then slowly turn around It’s the same routine every night But tonight it’s got you down A tear or two down the cheek A few that hit the floor Your troubled heart alone to seek That something that’s something more You walk to your bedroom and sit on the bed Then reach over to the dresser Taking your Bible and beginning to read Hoping to find an answer You turn over to MATTHEW where the Lord does say Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find And so you ask for and seek out comfort as you pray And His love fills your heart and His peace clears your mind You wipe your tears and say Amen Then get up and turn off the light Thanking Jesus, your Lord and Friend For giving you such a great night And still these nights may sometimes come When loneliness visits your home Just remember that if you’re lonely You’re lonely, but not alone -Calvin W.
