Just a reminder that the third annual Town Hall Candidates Forum will be a week from today, Tuesday October 14, from 6pm to 8pm at the Silverton High School Auditorium. Ive organized this forum each election because I think that direct questions from the public are an important way to find out where candidates stand. Co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce this year, former Silverton Appeal Editor and current Managing Editor of the Capital Press Carl Sampson will moderate the event. Mayoral and Council candidates will both participate, and to date, only Mayor Rasmussen and Councilor Scott Walker have yet to RSVP, though their attendance is expected. Attendance is free, but we have traditionally suggested a voluntary canned or boxed food donation for SACA at the door. Please come, bring your friends and family, and share this on your newsfeed - lets fill the place up!
