Just a reminder to beware of the freebies. Last year when we signed up for DirecTv, it came with a free season of NFL Sunday ticket. One of those deals where it is up to you to cancel or they start charging you. I had asking during the season if I could go ahead and request to cancel it at the end of the season. No. I had to wait until season was over to call. I actually put it on my calendar for day after Super Bowl to not forget. I called and was told their system still wasnt ready, it was up to me to call back again later. On my 3rd call, I was finally able to cancel. Then yesterday I noticed I was being charged for NFL Sunday ticket again this fall. I wasnt allowed to cancel online because once the season starts, you cant cancel. So I called and they were able to confirm that I had cancelled last Feb., but I was then asked if I also wanted to cancel the auto renew. I asked why I needed to cancel an auto renew for something I dont even subscribe to anymore. The lady actually told me that canceling a subscription does NOT remove the auto renew feature. You have got to be kidding me! She did offer to do this for me and did refund the charges to my account for NFL this season ($158!!!), but I am wondering how many people are getting billed for this who dont realize it or just go ahead and pay it instead of going thru the hassle of calling to fix it. Consumer Beware!!!
