Just a short note to thank everyone who came out today and worked hard to pull off our annual Charlotte Hall Veterans Center Picnic. By any standard, it was a great success. We had plenty of volunteers both young and old, and plenty of Grill Masters to do the grillin! Threatening weather forced us to move the event indoors, and the result was pleasantly surprising. By serving the veterans ourselves the whole process went off without a hitch. You should have seen the youngsters interacting with the older vets. Quite a sight. Our kids were great. Thanks also to all who stayed behind to help clean up. We were out of there shortly after 2 PM. So pat yourselves on the back, for a job well done. They love us there, and I assured several residents that wed be back again next year.
