Just a thought....I was a boyscout way back in the day and made Eagle when I turned 18...When I was about 16 was when ladies were becoming assistant scoutmasters and such. When I turned 21 they were allowed into the order of the arrow (which all of this by the way is a boys orginization, almost para military, at least when Lord Baden Powell started the Scouts). Im blessed that I was able to complete my Eagle Badge in time and that the council that I was in allowed me to be interviewed on my vacation from the Navy IC school. To this day, from the beginning when Lord Baden Powell started scouting until this very day, boys are the ones who graduate from the boy scouts and become eagles. Im only saying this because their are some people who I have met that are confused in this issue. It is a high honor and depending on the troop and scoutmaster, can be very hard to get the Eagle badge. Chivalry. A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, thrifty, brave, clean....so on, and the last on...a scout IS Reverent. Lord Baden Powell take the very basis of Christian ethics and brought them into scouting. Scouting is not about trying to make the badges and camping, all though that is fun...its about making boys into young men, who honorable, trustworthy, loyal, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful even in the face of suffering. Scouting has and always will be an orginization that is dedicated to the highest principles of a young mans life...Reverence for God being the chief, which is why it is the last one in the Scout law. The Oath, invoking God and striving to walk with God and doing their best for their fellow man and for God! Chivalry is not just something that was long lost, but is around this day and brought forth in an orginization that is under attack for actually standing up for solid truth and a rock solid foundation underneath. Chivalry is summed up, Christian ethics and morals that never change. Chivalry is based upon the unchanged character of God the Father, His Son, Jesus and the indwelling Spirit of the Living God! The largest contributor for Boy Scouts until the would not bend the knee to social pressure was the United Way! Because the Boy Scouts have not compromised under pressure and stand for Rock Solid Truth, Jesus and His way, they are persecuted in this side of the world and in Europe.
