Just a thought..... I was wondering if there were a hundred families in town who would like to make a difference. Based on the principle of 1% change.... If 100 families, who normally buy all their meat from the big conglomerate, decided to purchase 2 lots of their weekly meat from one of our local butchers instead......the conglomerate may not twitch an eyelid.....but it would make a huge difference to the turnover of a local family business. Sometimes it is overwhelming and seems all too hard to make big changes....grabbing everything while doing the groceries seems so much easier... So I am now living by the 1% rule (and more when I can!).... Rather than trying to make a 100% change for me.....100 people making a 1% change gets the same result! Each week I try to buy at least 2 meat purchases from one of the butchers.....I pop in to the bakery and buy a loaf while I am there......
