Just a thought...Today is perhaps the most important day on the Christian calendar. What does that mean to me? I am thinking of my mom, dressed for church, watching us look for the hidden candy and beaming with love... Having been brought up a Norwegian Lutheran in the Midwest, I was raised to believe in the teachings of Jesus as written in the New Testament. I grew up going to church on Easter, singing in the choir and then eating candy for the next 48 hours. I took away much from my upbringing...most importantly an understanding that love is everything.............. and an overpowering addiction to jelly beans. That being said,the lyrics to every song in Hair, Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar have been chillin there in my consciousness for the last 40 years. Those were the musicals that got me in to theater. My spiritual and moral values are rooted in Judeo-Christian beliefs and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius........and they have been nurtured by Woodstock and every book I have ever read, every song I have ever heard and every person I have ever met. I am now a much different person than I was when i was younger. I have my own beliefs and I respect the beliefs of others, to an extent. At this point in my life, I really do not care what your beliefs are....but I do care whether or not love is at the core of those beliefs and of who you are. Love IS really all you need.
