Just a week ago my girl would run up to the slide entrance and quickly turn around. Previously she had a couple of brave endeavours going down the slide all by herself but bumped her head in the process. She didnt know how to keep herself in sitting position going down the slide. Now she understands the word help in Chinese. If I meet her right at the entrance, and say mama help, she would think about it, extend her hand and let me hold onto her while she slides down. This went on for a couple months. Today at the park she finally mustered enough courage to go down the slide by herself. She even cheered for herself after she finished a round. Its amazing to see characters getting built as early as 1.5 years of life. Courage, resilience, and trust. I didnt imagine any of these important events when I was swaddling and changing my immobile baby a year ago. Im starting to realize the importance of my presence to my babe. I might not be making a whole lot of money, but I can be there for one little push off the slide to get her to be strong, its all worth it.
