Just a word of WARNING people Well I would like to tell you about Argos in Whitehaven.But it will apply to all Argos stores. I bought a new Laptop for £450 on Wednesday 17/12/14. So I thought I would set it up for them ready to use on Christmas day straight out of the box. So last night started to set it up for them. The first thing I noticed it did not want to start up. It did so on the 5th attempt. So carried on with adding a browser for them and setting it up to connect to the internet. 35 minutes in to set up the screen froze on me. I waited for 20 minutes to see if it would carry on. No joy nothing would work. Would not even close down. So tried again, same thing and this time I got a black screen. So I took it back this morning. They got the manager out and said they could not replace it. It would have to go away for repair. I said it was for a Christmas pressy for my Granddaughters. She said that was not her problem. I said not your problem that you are ruining my Granddaughters Christmas. She replies, no thats not me who is doing that. So I was expected to leave it there for them to send it away and be returned before Xmas. The managers attitude was I dont give a stuff. So thank you manager of Argos I have no Xmas gift for my granddaughters. They did tell me when I purchased this that I could not bring this back. Only if it was faulty. It was faulty and thought at the very least it would be replaced. So be aware that they will only send items away to be repaired not replaced with a new one. Even though it was only 2 days old. The manager with no guilt of ruining two 9 years old childrens Christmas was a short dark haired lady in her mid to late 20s wearing glasses. Never got her name but I will. I made sure I told everyone at the top of my voice when leaving the shop. 2 day old computer, wont work, they wont replace it. Watch what you are buying from here.
