Just about one week ago at The Carlyle Hotel, New York. This is where Edddie Daniels Band holds forth on most Monday evenings. Woody Allen is more often than not the clarinettist. The band is excellent and provide a solid Jazz environment for Woody. Fellow Australian, Simon The Hot Tamale Man Wettenhall, a N.Y. resident of many years standing, plays outstanding, forceful~lead trumpet in what is a very swinging New Orleans Revival oriented group. Simon gets to demonstrate his formidably broad abilities across a variety of stylistic directions, all across N.Y. & internationally. Tempting as it was, I declined the chance to take a video, so these hurriedly snapped pics will have to suffice. The evening was thoroughly enjoyable & Wendy & I enjoyed Simons hospitality very much. :-)
