Just about this time last year (roughly 4:30PM on Nov. 5), I was sitting on the pavement at school. Having just been hit by a school bus, I was in tremendous pain and in fear for my life. All I wanted in that moment was my family and some pain relief. Today, I am sitting in the comfort of my home. The scars are there, but I am healing physically and emotionally. I am getting ready to celebrate being on this side of the grass with a glass of wine, while my hubby serenades me with his rendition of the Bee Gees Staying Alive. (Hes been practicing his falsetto.)
