Just about to start scaping a 30 gallon tank, which is proportionally quite tall. I really want to build some height into the view but am struggling with a few questions. I think it will be too expensive and heavy to build the height with rock and its too dramatic a height change to use mesh bags of gravel I have seen flexible plastic strips used to build and hold terraces and I had wondered about using food grade plastic containers filled with substrate and gravel but have read that this could lead to a build up if toxic gas as water wont circulate How deep can the gravel/substrate be and could I use containers? What have others done? Look forward to some discussion on this
