Just amused myself taking the top end off the matchy. New rings and changed the piston now the bore is broken in so the rings should have a long life. Hopefully cured the leaky pushrod tubes, they can be the Achilles heel of these engines, constantly applying preservative to the outside of the cases. Too late to test properly now its all back together started easily, but you can notice the slightly lower compression ratio of a standard piston. Get it warm and flush the oil next so all the weeny microscopic bits scraped of the bores are banished from the engine for good.
