Just an example of how we should cherish the little things- As many of you know, our oldest, Patrick, developed a high fever and went into seizures when he was 18 months old. The seizures left him with brain damage to his gross motor skills, i.e. walking, talking, etc. It is very difficult for him to control his movements. His brain sends a signal to do something, but his muscles do not always cooperate. Yesterday, my husband placed a potato chip on his lap, and said, "watch." After many tries (and some crumbled chips) he grabbed one, got it up to his mouth and took a bite! Tears came to my eyes at such a simple act, which we take for granted everyday, was accomplished! Please remember that God puts these things in your life to remind us that sometimes when we are so intent on focusing on the BIG PICTURE, it is the little things that will give us great joy....
