Just an open Letter to the Editor The Sarnia Observer: Dear Careless Female Driver of a Black Vehicle: On Friday, November 15, around 3:50 pm, you hit my sister as she was walking across the intersection at Wellington and Finch. Not only did you fail to stop at the red light and look in BOTH directions before you made your right hand turn, YOU DROVE OFF! It is obvious that you didn’t care if she was injured, but if you lost any sleep last night, I hope you are comforted by the fact that she didn’t suffer any major injuries. Luckily, she was able to see you and jumped onto the hood of your car before you ran her over. I hope she didn’t inconvenience you by damaging your mirror. Unfortunately, my sister was in too much shock to get your licence plate. How lucky for you, you might just get away with a hit and run. I’m not sure if you know this, but that is a CRIME. While you might not care about my sister, my sister cares about your child who sat in the front seat and witnessed their mom hit a person and drive away. I am sure your child was traumatized by the event and also by your callous and cowardly actions. What a great lesson to teach our impressionable youth. Should you read this and feel compelled to do the right thing, first you should talk to your child about the importance of safe driving and doing what is right. Secondly, I would learn the rules of the road to make sure this never happens again, because next time you might kill someone with your carelessness. If anyone who witnessed this accident has information identifying the driver of the vehicle, I am sure the Sarnia Police would be interested. Signed, A Concerned Sister
