Just an update on my own personal preparation for GPA Worlds, for those that may be interested. 3 months ago in Russia on my very last bench session I hurt my shoulder during board presses. The very next day I couldnt lift my arm the pain was so bad. Since my return to Australia I have not had one single bench session. The most Ive attempted is 100kg and Ive needed to stop the rep half way through. After many failed attempts at healing my shoulder my own way, I was forced to see the doctor about a month ago. First of all the ultrasound could not see through my muscle to get any indication of a muscle or ligament tear or strain, the doctor said my only hope was an MRI. After more doctors appointments and referrals I finally got in to have the MRI, well after many attempts by the doctor, the shoulder cap/camera (Im pretty sure thats not the correct name for it) would not fit on my shoulder. The doc decided that we could try to get some decent images without the shoulder camera on. Next issue was not being able to fit in the MRI machine (the biggest one of all 3-4 in Hobart). I did squeeze in there but it was impossible to get any clear pictures of my shoulder. I have no idea how pro bodybuilders or obese patients fit in these machines! Its absolutely ridiculous. No doctor in Hobart will take a stab in the dark and give me a cortisone shot, with the hope of masking the pain to get me through to worlds. My squatting and deadlifting is going great, and all Im certain of is a new Australian squat record and a personal best deadlift. Ill do what I can on the bench with no training, and could possible still pull off a pb total with a token bench. So to all my loyal friends and Facebook friends around the world, you can be certain of some big squatting during my prep and in Sydney, but in regards to my total, well lets see how it turns out. Thank you to absolutely everyone who continues to support me from all corners of the world!
