Just an update re a request for some lights at Mansura launch and the Point in Bordelonville. The utility company does not have service at the Point and will not build a route to the area for the lighting of one open bottom dusk/dawn HPS fixture. The economics just will not work unless there is a guaranteed rate of return to recover the costs associated with providing the service to the launch area.. At Mansura launch the site is NOT on WLF property, but is on School Board property and permission must be acquired in writing before a pole can be placde to support the light. There is electrical service available at this site and an existing pole, but the pole is on a piece of property leased by the School Board to an individual. There may be some future developments at this site in the not too distant future that would allow for the placing/energizing of lights. Stay tuned.
