Just arranged an additional activity for March History Lovers: The talk will cover such items as: antique maps and early Australian coastal exploration and settlement with original maps from the 1700s. We will also be shown through a first edition of Arthur Phillip’s journal published in 1789 with over 50 engravings and maps showing early settlement life in Sydney and Norfolk Island in the late 1700s and also Captain Cook’s second voyage published in 1779. Additionally and if time permits, the talk can include Polynesian artefacts, as we have Norfolk Island’s largest collection of Polynesian artefacts from the people who lived here 800 years ago. This will be on Tuesday lunchtime at the Sublime Café.
