Just as I was about to give Pastor Oritsejafor a tiny benefit of the doubt, I am beginning to hear that he was actually in the know (aka well involved) in the botched arms deal. This lad is just a businessman, as are so many others deceiving gullible Nigerians into believing they are Men of God. Meanwhile, APC poster boy Babatunde Fashola, under whose primary jurisdiction this Synagogue church collapse falls, has not as much as made any statement (not to talk of punitive measures) as regards the issue, even as his office has alleged the building did not meet the specified requirements. Even APC as a political party has not made any statement regarding the issue, as I am sure they would have done had this been a PDP state. And to my brothers up North, why the sudden silence on the apparent retreat (seemingly on all fronts) by Boko Haram? It seems a lot of you were shouting not because you were feeling the pains of the talakawas who bore the brunt of these beasts your leaders reared for decades, but simply because you wanted a President whose incompetence we already know about, out of office, only to replace him with another mosquito who will suck our bloods from a different direction, a direction that faces you. Let this statement serve as a reminder that most of us who excoriate GEJ are not fools. Just as we remember your silence today, we remember your silence during the days of Umaru Musa Yar Adua, and how those voiceless suddenly found their voice the moment GEJ mounted the saddle. From voice-less...to Vociferous.....back to voiceless. Continue. Una don see mumu. For our military, all I can say is....better late than never. I dont know if this sudden victory has to do with 2015 (i.e did the powers that be intentionally protract this struggle when they knew they were capable ab initio?), but at least, some people who would have otherwise lost their lives would live another day. As for those who promised to make Nigeria ungovernable both in statement and deed, the monster you created has actually worsened your case, has left your region in tatters and did not help your brothers (even the innocent ones) jostling for office at the centre. If anything, the apparent demise of Boko Haram will strengthen the case of GEJ (both for sensible and senseless supporters) and completely blight your chances for power at the centre. May your hunger for Central Power NEVER be satiated until you undergo genuine, undiluted and irreversible PENANCE. As for GEJ, I will say the truth. I still feel he has failed in critical areas of governance, and still does not understand his job, but at least, make we encourage the man to just defeat this BH monster, and maintain the political will to consolidate present military gains. I expect valuable intelligence info to be flowing now the military has over 200 BH fighters in custody. There should be long term efforts to win the peace after winning the war. But Sir, that speech at the United Nations Assembly was a DISASTER.
