Just as light pollution impairs night vision and prevents you from seeing most of the stars in the sky, so the perpetual flood of fluff news and celebrity worship stops people seeing the darkness which has slowly taken hold in the world, and keeps them from seeing the true shining stars of humanity. There is a new dark age we are descending into, intellectually and culturally. If you have any concept of what a dark age means, you should be very frightened.
