Just as the United Way has their “Day of Caring”, SVWC created - TopicsExpress

Just as the United Way has their “Day of Caring”, SVWC created its own “Community Benefit Day” – a day of service dedicated to helping those in need. SVWC teamed up with Teens Opposing Poverty (TOP), a local non-profit that focuses on encouraging youth to help the less fortunate. SVWC Chaplain, Larry Lawhon and Stephanie Landes, SVWCs Director of Development & Community Relations, worked with Steve Jennings, Executive Director of TOP. The home of a senior citizen in need, was identified - a two-story residence on Chase Street in Winchester. A long list of projects were submitted and a group from SVWC put on their work clothes and dug in. Volunteers included: Nichole Braithwaite Donna Evans (and husband, Ted) Monica Hamlin (our SU practicum intern) Mary Kerns Nick Landes Stephanie Landes Mike Lindenburg Bobby Mauck Stephanie Ralls Justin Reif Ann Turner Mike Williams Thanks to everyone for your dedication and hard work!
