Just as the liberals blame everything on global warming, they blame everything on fracking. According to their latest opium induced rant, fracking causes earthquakes in the Midwest. Really? And you say the sun rises in the East? First thing you have to know about earthquakes is that you really know very little about earthquakes. First of all the San Andreas fault is very small compared to the New Madrid fault, which is 6 times larger than the San Andreas. The worst earthquakes in the country have been in the New Madrid and not the San Andreas. In 1811 and 1812 (before fracking) there were 4 earthquakes of 7.0 magnitude or higher. In 1968 (again before modern fracking in that region there was a 5.4 quake hit the New Madrid region in Illinois that was so strong, it knocked down chimneys in Cincinnati, Ohio and made the church bells ring in Charleston, SC. Secondly, a tectonic plate will cover half the continent and is about 62 miles thick. So the very idea that we could cause shifting in plates weighing billions of tons by drilling a 5 inch hole into rocks seems a little arrogant to me. Why is it always that liberals always act arrogant when they are the people who have the least to be arrogant about? But I digress. Since August there have been 500 measurable earthquakes attributable to the New Madrid Fault. Plates have the tendency to do a major shift every 150 years or so. We are 50 years beyond the point where one would be expected. Los Angeles is way overdue.
