Just attended mass with about 10,000 Catholic college students. It was one of most amazing experiences of my life. All together. One body. In the Real Presence of Christ. Some of the service in Latin, some in English. Some people wearing a veil, some not. Some people raising their hands during the songs, some not. Some people receiving the Eucharist in the hand, some on the tongue. Some people holding hands during the Our Father, some not. Its not our liturgical practices that ultimately that bind us...its our love of Christ...its the Eucharist. Its the Gospel. It is such an honor to be speaking at the FOCUS conference. I can assure you that anyone who says that the Catholic faith is dying has never experienced anything like this conference. Our faith is alive and well. I wish I could have recorded the procession of priests as they entered mass...I swear it was a mile long. No matter what your faith tradition, I pray that find peace in knowing that God is among us. He is in our midst as we take His message and spread it far and wide. Hes in the ordinary and the extraordinary. He is in our strength and weakness. He never leaves us. He is always waiting. I pray that we all find comfort in Him.
