Just back after the 700 mile drive from Verden. It was a brilliant weekend. The organisation the hotel the venue and all the staff were first class. The guys who with just one run through of the songs on the Friday night did a great job backing me and a big thank you to Peter Ulbricht for organising all that. However, Playing Here I Stand with Brian Locking and an extended version of The Savage with Jerry Donahue was something else. I told Jerry that I was playing Verden some time ago as I knew he was touring Germany. It turned out Saturday he was travelling between concerts and managed to work in coming to the event and ended up not only playing with me but two other bands. I was able to introduce him to Brian Locking for the first time. Just before leaving this morning we all had breakfast together. It would have been nice to be there with the girls as we could of put on a bigger show but considering it was all done on a wing it went down really well with the audience calling for more in the end they called for Sacha again which we did. Jerry and myself just chatted about how we would play The Savage but never tried to do it until we were in front of a packed to the roof audience. Another thrill for me my bass player on the night was Arild from The Reflections who I first met at St Donats Castle Shadsfest when I was 11 and who backed me in Norway Germany and the UK when I was young. It has been 14 years since we were last on stage together and it was wonderful having the comfort of Arild beside me again. It was also great to meet up with Martin of the UB Hank Band again another band who backed me the last time I played Verden with Kayley Hedges when we were both 14 years old. Hopefully, there will be some postngs of photos over the next week or so. My thanks to all at Verden for your love and support. Zoe
