Just back from Stansted Airport and feel ferociously, hideously, ruthlessly grumpy and misanthropic. From the florid-faced man in front who tried to pay for a ham and cheese toastie with a hundred pounds worth of Danish currency, ensuring that I had a catering trolley in my arm for fifteen minutes, to the sour, wasp-chewing woman who devoured apples in single bites, the single tooth in her mouth working like a beaver, to the man so closed to me in the queue I think I caught nits, the family of yummy mummy, yummy daddy and several clog-wearing infants playing at the top and then bottom of the escalators, (what jolly laughter ensued as we all crashed into each other), all accompanied by an eye-watering honk of cat-wee smell honk from four rows down. Sooooooooo glad to be home, in my own living room, drinking proper tea with my pussy cats.
