Just back from a great afternoon in Newcastle at the Bridge Hotel discussing future creative plans and sharing a few pints with Keith Armstrong, Peter Dixon, Robert Lonsdale, Tony Whittle and Trevor Teasdale. Its great to have such wonderful friends - thanks guys! Great inspiration and motivation! Good progress on the Mad Martins project - I think weve found our Jonathan Martin in Trevor Teasdale - cant wait to record his parts for the CD and to hopefully involve him in the live shows. Lots of enthusiasm and development for Mad Martins amongst other things - e.g. look out for my contribution in June to the forthcoming book and project about George Stephenson for which I have written a new song. My next major post will likely be about a Pledge Music campaign for the final phase of Mad Martins, in order to see it finally come to fruition after a necessary 6-month hiatus (with 40-50 songs, poems and spoken word pieces in a double CD and deluxe book format). Ive come up with a wealth of ideas for this but I want to put all my ideas out there and get some feedback and thoughts from potential pledgers before I go ahead and commit to anything. Also, if the Pledge campaign proves successful this first time round, it could provide a template for future recording projects for The Whisky Priests, as well as my other solo stuff. So watch this space...
