Just because God is, well…God…we have a tendency to think he should do all of the work. In essence, he has done all of the work…for us to be able to do all of our work. Sound crazy? Maybe we are. Because God has given all we need to push through, walk on, run well…but we get lazy. Whiny. Even desperate. We start looking at circumstances, which may truly stink, and we want God to somehow sacrifice more…or again? Shame on us. Not that we don’t call out to him, not that he doesn’t give us clarity and strength…but we have some things we need to do, as well. “Barricade the road that goes Nowhere; grace me with your clear revelation. I choose the true road to Somewhere, I post your road signs at every curve and corner. I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me; GOD, don’t let me down! I’ll run the course you lay out for me if you’ll just show me how.” Psalm 119:29-32 (MSG) – Lord, may we remember to “choose,” “post,” “grasp,” & “cling” to whatever you tell us. We know you will “barricade,” “grace,” and never, ever let us down.
