Just because I am passionate about something, does not make it - TopicsExpress

Just because I am passionate about something, does not make it right for me to ridicule those who have opposing passions. Just because David talked trash about Goliath doesnt mean I am licensed to follow suit. If David is my example, then I could kill someone to sleep with his wife. NO. 2 Timothy 2:23-26 WNT 23 But avoid foolish discussions with ignorant men, knowing--as you do--that these lead to quarrels; 24 and a bondservant of the Lord must not quarrel, but must be inoffensive towards all men, a skilful teacher, and patient under wrongs. 25 He must speak in a gentle tone when correcting the errors of opponents, in the hope that God will at last give them repentance, for them to come to a full knowledge of the truth 26 and recover sober-mindedness and freedom from the Devils snare, though they are now entrapped by him to do his will. The focus here is NOT for us to deem people foolish or ignorant from our holy judges seat. The point is to not be combative or quarrelsome. THE POINT is to walk in LOVE. Even when we disagree strongly, patience and love are to be the motives of our hearts and fruit of our lives. Each and EVERY person is worth the Blood of Christ. Have I arrived? Absolutely not!...yet! (Just ask anyone in my household!) But HE HAS, and He has seated me with Him by HIS doing. Now, God is at work in me both to will and to do of HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Until my life looks exactly like Christ, I need the eyes of my understanding opened more. Its all here, I just havent seen clearly who He is and all He has done. It is my prayer every day to help me see clearly so I live purely...see HIM clearly, and reflect HIM purely. It starts with Him, then with me, then with others. Cast the Rock into the pond of my heart and mind, Father, that Your ripples may extend to everyone I encounter.
