Just because Im very morbidly curious, how exactly was Superman in Man of Steel like Batman? Thats a claim I see people make, but I just dont see the similarity. Does Clark alter his voice to sound more gruff, like Batman does? Nope. Does he skulk in the shadows, like Batman does? Nope. Does he wear an all-black costume designed to resemble an animal that might frighten people, like Batman does? Nope. Does he live in a dank cave, like Batman does? Nope. Does he go around punching people for no discernible reason, like Batman does? What TANGIBLE similarities between the two are people seeing that I cant see? Does Superman tossing a drone at a generals feet make him like Batman? Does engaging in a fight with a foe who is his equal in terms of power but superior in terms of skill make him like Batman? Does killing his foe make him like Batman? Does wandering the Earth looking for his destiny make him like Batman? (Batman wandered the Earth to TRAIN for his calling, which is different. Batman already knew what his place in the world was). If killing and travelling the world on a grand quest makes them alike, well, that only makes them mythic heroes like the ones described by Joseph Campbell.
