Just because we have been doing something for a long time - even - TopicsExpress

Just because we have been doing something for a long time - even as long as our forebears and ancestors may have known - does not mean we should continue to do it, if it is stupid. Stupid in the true definition of the word, being senseless behavior or acting from ignorance. We are so lost as a species, we cling to familiar stupidity for comfort. Like comfort-eating, comfort-stupidity offers the same reassurances. It makes us feel better about our situation temporarily, it occupies us, distracts us and gives us something to do that we may still believe is part of an actual solution because it has always been what was done. I include religious, and land-occupation arguments to maintain weapon economies in this. And like with comfort-eating, it is ignorance that destroys our well being, and while we maintain it, prevents us from discovering the actual best way for us. Like an obese human, destined to become morbidly obese, whereby they are actually killing themselves from their ignorant life-supporting eating, ;) must learn correct life-supporting eating; we as a species must learn what we need to do to maintain and thrive. We are not designed to decline in magnificence, to reduce in ability, to become a worse, mutated, stifled example; but to evolve to reach our best and fullest potential. Our design is such that we are ready, willing, and able for expansion in awareness, in any given second. History holds us back when we are still guided by that which was written, with centuries old issues in mind. We are designed to use our memories of history to learn from them what worked, what did not, and thusly to be continually creative in a forward thinking manner. :-)
