Just been reading the Department of Transport Door to Door: A strategy for improving sustainable transport integration [I know, Im sad]. Throughout the few pages Ive read, they keep banging on about smaller environmental footprint, sustainable means, integrated transport, convenient and straightforward. The minister seems to have some grasp of the situation when he says that he wants to make public transport more attractive. The only things that most passengers want are a reliable and affordable transport system. They want a bus service that turns up more or less when it should and which doesnt cost too much. Anything else is just froth.
