Just been to the Ecobos Consultation. Met a guy called Neil Harvey who is the Consultant for Savills who are behind the scheme. He said, and I quote, This is a done deal. Its just a question of what gets put there. So you can be as outraged as you want, they are going to build 1500 ish new homes there and no one can stop them (and dont be surprised if they are Wainhomes either). Adding approximately 4000 people to the population of St Austell. Or 15%. So the next time someone tells you St Austell cant support Coyte Farm because we dont have the population, the town centre will suffer, etc etc, point out that with the houses already submitted for planning in the framework, another 1500, that in the next 10 years, St Austells population will increase by around 8000 people, or 30%. So build Coyte Farm, build the town centre department store, build whatever you want. Because we will be twice the size of Truro and we still wont be even close to having their infrastructure. You could build Drakes Circus and we still wouldnt have enough to cope with the population.
