Just by closing my eyes I am instantly taken back to this day 12 years ago. I remember exactly where I was when I heard the breaking news. I remember the DJs on the radio diverting from their regular morning program as the news slowly reached Californians as we awoke for another day. Little did we know it was THE day that would change our world forever. I remember watching the TV reports waiting for Rambo or Arnold or some super hero to step out of the dust and ashes saving everyone inside - just knowing, wishing, praying that what I was watching could not be really happening - not in America. I remember standing in front of a classroom of scared, nervous, worried 7th graders trying to calm their fears and offer reassurance that they would be safe, while doubting my own words and hiding my own fears. And I remember crying that night for the loss of life and the loss of our Nation and the new world in which we would now have to live. I remember the world we lived in on September 10, 2001 and I remember when it all changed on September 11, 2001. I remember.
