Just called Pet World at Carlingwood Mall enquiring about the German Shepherd puppies that they were advertising on a poster. they had four puppies, all of which sold very quickly. The young lady told me that they were purebred, and their breeder does not wish to deal with the public, or be bothered. When I said I thought that breeders generally liked to know where their puppies are going, I was advised that they trust the pet store to find good homes. She told me they refused some buyers. When I asked if I could contact the breeder about their next litter, the response was a responding No! If you are wondering why a breeder would not want to deal with the public, here is the answer: The ONLY breeders who do not want to be bothered dealing with the public are those who are breeding solely for profit. They do not care where their puppies go, they do not care how or where they are homed, they do not care if the puppies are bred. They do not want any recourse in the event of a sick or genetically compromised puppy. In other words, what wehave just described is a puppy miller. And these are just some of the reasons why we dont support pet stores that sell puppies.
