Thorold Couple Had Twin Insurance; Get Triplets” “Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sciarra, 31 Pine St., Thorold, today are the proud and happy parents of the first triplets recorded in the history of Thorold. The youngsters, two boys and a girl, each weighing more than four pounds, were born last evening at Maplehurst Hospital, and are all thriving. The Sciarras had bought a layette under twin insurance policy, and will now cash in on their certificate. Mrs. Sciarra is shown above with her family.” This photo, taken by Don Sinclair, appeared in The Standard on June 20, 1946. “Twin insurance” can still be purchased in the UK, but doesn’t seem to be available in Canada!
