Just came from a double funeral. My parents next door neighbors - TopicsExpress

Just came from a double funeral. My parents next door neighbors for over 35 years were laid to rest at Veterans Cemetary in Estell Manor near Mays Landing. Mrs. Mason passed away I believe last year and Mr. Mason several months ago. Their ashes have been in Texas where their daughter and son now live. The whole family traveled to New Jersey to bury the ashes together at the same time. There was an Army Honor Guard with a live bugle playing Taps & a recording of bag pipes playing Amazing Grace during the flag folding ceremony. The bag pipes really got to me, & the flag ceremony reminded me of my Dads funeral, so it was a little hard in addition to grieving the loss of our dear neighbors. I walked over to my parents graves for the very first time since their burial. Thank you to Dawn Martino Curtis for accompanying me to their gravesite. The luncheon afterwards was lovely & gave me a chance to meet the Masons grandchildren, some of whom I never met because they were in Texas by the time they were born. And Frank came in when he picked me up so they all could meet him and my kids for the first time. The whole service was lovely and it was so wonderful to see friends I havent seen in many years. God Bless and take Fred and Jan Masons souls to Heaven. I will miss them very much.
