Just checked out from Marriott in Bhopal. Typically in top hotels you dont check your bill thoroughly and you just sign on dotted lines. This time around one of my cousin who work in hospitality sector told me stories about staff members availing facilities and later charging it to clients. So I checked my bill thoroughly. Found there was a dubious entry for dinner. I demanded the signed receipt. Found I never had that dinner. Someone impersonated me, had dinner and at the end of dinner simply charged the bill to my room number. Sure enough the person was aware of my last name as s/he signed the bill with my name. So my guess was it was a staff member who at the end of the shift simply had a luxurious dinner, and signed my name on receipt. Anyway they were quick to cancel the bill and apologize. I thought to share this experience with you all, so that when you check out of five star hotel, always check your bill very thoroughly.
