Just completed an early morning walkabout around the Hodge Hill - TopicsExpress

Just completed an early morning walkabout around the Hodge Hill ward. The engineers are still beavering away on Wanderers Walk trying to fix the burst main pipe. Luckily the water supply has been re-routed so should not be affectin any households. I noted a broken pedestrian handrail on Bromford Drive which I have now logged to be fixed. A number if green sacks inc black bags scattered around Bromford Drive, Drews Lane, Foley Road so will report as fly tipping. I am dismayed that dumping is continuing next to the public bin on Drews Lane. All sorts of rubbish inc a settee have been dumped. I think the only way forward is to relocate the bin. Not sure why certain individuals see public waste bins as communal rubbish destination points. I think as a team in Hodge Hilll with Anita Ward & Fiona Williams we will need to come up with a new solution for keeping our streets clean & green. Watch this space. I took some photographs of the new parking signage on Warren Road & despite my representations to Highways they have proceeded with a no parking zone until 6pm which is contrary to what i thought we had agreed. The battle will continue & hopefully an agreement can be reached. On a more positive note Housing have agreed to repair the broken wooden panels on Brockhurst Road that prevent parking on the green spaces, and work will begin on installing new street columns on Bromford Lane. I was pleased that AMEY agreed to my suggestion of bright LED white lights at the Fox & Goose junction last year, and hope similar schemes are enacted elsewhere in the ward. The sun is out so have a good day & if you live near Ward End Park please try to attend the Hodge Hill Arts Picnic from 12pm to 4pm. If you need any further details please contact Lucy Poulson. Have a nice day folks
