Just completed an intensive day of coaching with Solvay Chemicals. Here are my key thoughts to them, which I thought would be helpful to you as well: 1. WHO comes first: get clear on what your audience care about and spend the first few minutes demonstrating that you know them intimately before you let them in on your content (remember this: no one cares about how much you know until you first show them how much you care about them) 2. WHY comes next: WHY catches attention. WHY gets into the heart of your presentation. WHY has the power to persuade and inspire. Get the WHY right and the WHAT and HOW becomes easy. 3. Keep WHAT short and sweet. Think of your key messages in sound bites. Better yet, think in 140 characters. 4. Make HOW relevant to your audience. Share with them examples that they can relate to. Show them how to apply what you have presented.
