Just completed an update on how many Aspiring Women Candidates have confirmed their interest in contesting the 2014 National General Elections. There are 22 in all so far that have reached the WIL Desk and will be contesting the following Constituencies. CHoiseul 1 - North West Choiseul. Guadalcanal 4 - out of which 2 will contest the Central Guadalcanal, 1 for West Guadalcanal and 1 for South Guadalcanal. Honiara we have 1 for East Honiara and 3 for Central Honiara. Ysabel we have 1 so far been confirmed and another yet to be for Gao Bugotu. Makira we have 1 for East Makira. Malaita we have 4, 2 for Central Kwaraae, 1 for West Kwaraae and 1 for West Are Are. Temotu we have 3, one for Temotu Nende, 1 for Vatu Nende, and 1 for Pele. Western Province we have 4, out of which 1 will contest the Rendova/Tetepari Constituency, 1 for Marovo, 1 for Simbo Ranogga, 1 for North New Georgia and 1 for Marovo. We may have additional candidates to be confirmed later especially those who have silently indicated their interest outside our current WISDM network. We call on all women and men champions to support these brave women who will face the many challenges ahead of them. If we want change THIS IS THE HOUR we must make it happen.
